Life is full of seemingly contradictory and confusing moments. Why does God sometimes seem to choose to heal one person and ignore another when both are faithful people, fervently prayed for. When we confront mysteries like this, what are we to do?
Psalm 147 offers us a glimpse into the nature of that in part what seem to be disparities in God’s kindness. Psalm 147 also offers us insight into the fact that God is both amazingly powerful and his wisdom is unlimited. If we believe these two truths, then we must accept that because God’s power is mighty, He will do things beyond our imaginations and abilities. And because God’s understanding is without measure and ours is not, God will do things that we do not begin to comprehend. So what are we to do. Trust and pray with confident hope.
Rev. John Arnold explains what that means in today’s sermons and draws upon an unexpected an inspiring source – a graduation speech by Denzel Washington. This will be an especially good sermon for you to listen to if you feel God has failed to meet your expectations. Blessings as you listen.
