The Israelites at one point in their history rejected God because they wanted a king so that they could be like other nations. We can unwittingly do the same in our lives as individuals. Also, the church can easily dismiss God to the side if it is not careful.

Many times being a member of Christ’s family gets reduced to attendance and doing good things. However, being a believer is much more than that. Without God the church is nothing more than another civic club. And without God, believers are little more than well-intentioned do-gooders. In today’s sermon we explore the importance of keeping God at the center to prevent these scenarios from happening.
