Have you ever wondered why God chose Joseph to raise Jesus? This choice seems chose. God could have picked anyone. Why not pick a person with power and privilege? Jesus could have had instant influence with the ‘right’ parent? Why pick a nobody like Joseph?
We’ll answer these questions today. Also, along the way, you’ll learn three God-like traits that Joseph possessed. Ones later associated with Jesus. We will also explore how possibly God selected Joseph so that he could role-model exactly what Jesus would later live out. Specifically, we will explore how righteousness, mercy, and sacrifice played an intimate role in the lives of both Joseph and Jesus.
This sermon is part 3 in the sermon series, Angels Among Us, in which we examine encounters with angels that occur throughout the Christmas story. Check out the special ‘Angels Among Us’ playlist to catch the other sermons in this series.
