The text for this sermon is Mark 12:38-44, Story of the Widow’s Mite.

One time Jesus witnessed a poor widow putting all that she had in the temple treasury. He voiced how her tiny gift was greater than the larger gifts of others around her. The story falls right on the heals of Jesus reprimanding the Scribes and the Pharisees for “devouring widows.”

The passage kind of raises the question of how much is enough.  Is Jesus expecting us all to go down to the church and hand over everything we have? I doubt it, but if not that, then what?

Those are the issues I address in this sermon. I dive into what is enough when we consider discipleship. Jesus seems to again and again be telling us that to follow him is all encompassing.  But, what does that mean on a practical level?  Listen and discover.
