Obedience and the Cross, by Rev. John Arnold
Isaiah 53:5-6, Philippians 2:5-11
The esteemed preacher, Rev. Billy Graham, said that the cross revealed four things:
- The clearest evidence of the world’s guilt
- God’s hatred of sin
- The glorious exhibition of God’s love
- The way to victory.
The cross also reveals Christ’s obedience and our call to obedience. Rev. John Arnold unpacks what “carrying your cross” means, by bringing to life the story of Simon of Cyrene, who carried Jesus cross. Through a first person monologue, experience what it may have been like to be a witness to Christ’s suffering and crucifixion.
You may intentional take on ministry sometimes, but Rev. Arnold reveals how often times, a cross that we are to bear interrupts our plans. Then you are faced with a conscious choice of whether or not to bear it in the moment.
