Sermon: From Humility to a Life Service
Text: Isaiah 6:1-8, Luke 5:1-11
Jonathon Aitken a former member of Parliament in the United Kingdom was convicted of perjury and lost everything. He was on track to potentially be the Prime Minister, but it all came unravelled when he lied in court. As a result, he lost his home, his marriage, went bankrupt, and wound up in prison.
Aitken thought of himself as a christian but it wasn’t until he lost everything that he discovered a entirely new level of relationship with God. This humbling experience drove him to deeper love of God and eventually a life of service that touch numerous inmates.
In this sermon, Rev. John Arnold shares Aitken’s amazing faith journey from humility to servanthood. He also shares several ways we can resist God’s call to service.
