Title: The Sponge – The Mysterious Jesus
Text: Mark 5:33-37
“My God, my God, Why have you forsaken me.” Jesus shouted this anguished cry as life ebbed from his body on the cross. Was it utter despair and isolation or was it a cry out of hope?
Rev. John Arnold suggests that Jesus was instinctively crying out words from his past that would both grasp the isolation on the cross and the hope of God’s redemptive power simultaneously. Also, discover how the word hidden in your heart can be a natural refuge that emerges in you during times of deep distress.
